When you get an error stating that the ink is empty, just take the ink cartridge out, turn the unit off, turn it back on, and place the ink cartridge back inside. You may continue to use the printer even though it's not indicating the ink cartridge is full. If you replace the ink too soon, it will not register the fact that a new ink has been installed. You can continue printing when the ink is low.
It is recommended to only replace the ink when it shows the ink is completely empty. This resets the printer's internal memory and overrides the "Ink Absorber Full" error code.This issue may occur if the ink cartridges are replaced prior to the ink being completely empty. Wait five seconds and push the "Power" button again. When the printer comes on, release the button. Press and hold the "Power" button and reconnect the power cord. Place the pads back in the rubber frame when they are completely dry. If the paper towels become saturated, change them out. Squeeze the excess water from the pads and place them on a stack of three or four paper towels to dry.Ĭheck the pads every hour to determine if they are dry.
Continue this procedure until all ink is removed from the pads. When the water becomes opaque with ink, discard the solution and refill the bowl with more warm, soapy water. Pull the rubber frame out of the printer and remove the ink absorbing pads. Look for a black rubber frame under the ink cartridge assembly. Wait for the ink cartridges to move all the way over, then disconnect the printer's power cord. Depending on your Canon printer model, this compartment may be in the front or the back of the machine.
